Tourism product includes the total tourist experience that meet its expectations, including experience with housing, natural and cultural attractions, entertainment, transportation, catering, hosts etc. Serbia has possibilities for development and commercialization of a tourism product, which can be divided into successful short-term ( "quick win") and long-term success ( "long run"). In the short-term, successful tourism products or products with the greatest opportunity to be quickly placed on the market include:

  • City Break;
  • Roundtrips ( "Touring");
  • Business Tourism + MICE ;
  • Events;
  • Special interests.


Products that require large investments, in other words, long-term successfull tourism products include:

  • Health Tourism ("Spa & Wellness");
  • Mountain and Lake Holidays;
  • Nautics;
  • Rural tourism.


Priority of the Republic of Serbia should be products with the greatest possibilities/potential for development and commercialization, which, with the smallest effort can give the best effect as soon as possible.

The importance of these products to the Republic of Serbia as a tourist destination  arises from the fact that it features a world scale and a constant volume of demand, dynamic growth in demand and high average consumption per day of stay. In this sense, the interest of the Republic of Serbia for the market of any of these products would be largely reflected positively on the current number and structure of arrivals and nights, as well as realized foreign tourist spending in the country. Based on the global tourism market trends, trends in the use of free time (the need for short, content and circular trips) and changes in demand requirements (companionship, entertainment, leisure, culture, education, etc.) The Republic of Serbia, by offering numerous reasons for the arrival and stay of tourists, is the best choice for the second holiday of the year (like Austria and Czech Republic).
